Teenage Wasteland "Suburia's Dead-End Kids
In my opinion the reading Teenage Wasteland, deals with alot of issues we discussed in Thursdays class on Chapter 2. Four teenagers from Bergenfields, New Jersey who committed suicide in a suicide pact on March 11, 1987 were labeled as "burnouts, troubled loser and druggie". Which put them in a number of cutural and society classes from, culture diversity, subculture, counterculture, culture universals, values and finally culture shock in my own opinion. Due to the fact know one every gave the four youth a chance to speak. While all sorts of associated press enjoyed moralizing about the incident, even in dealth no one still bothered to listen to what the Bergenfield's teenagers had to say. Each one of these kids felt they were missing something, not wanted or loved, and in the end they formulated a bond that martyr each of their beliefs. The fact is every child has a conflict with their parent/parents, or just a conflict in there lives. A little bit of communication goes a long way. This is what i gather from the reading Teenage Wasteland "Suburbia's Dead-End Kids".
